It’s no secret that time spent outdoors in nature can bring out so much in us. But did you know that research shows that we spend 95% of our time indoors with nearly 50% of that time spent working? As someone who LOVES the outdoors in nature, parks, patios, gardens and green spaces, I was so excited to have the opportunity to join L.L.Bean for the media preview of their Be an Outsider at Work event in partnership with Industrious in New York City.

L.L.Bean and Industrious basically took over Madison Square Park and together, created the most epic and first-ever outdoor co-working space in NYC. With this initiative, the goal is to inspire more people to take their work outside. Why? Well, research shows that when we spend time outside, it actually helps us to increase our productivity, creativity and happiness levels. Being in nature also improves our moods, enhances relaxation, lowers our stress levels. And it makes sense, because I always find myself drawn to the desire of decompressing in green spaces after a long, hard day.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have probably seen some of the behind the scenes on my stories and got a good chuckle watching me working AND working out at the same time on the cycling desk. You seriously can't get more efficient than that! I really enjoyed the individual workspaces, collaborative conference areas and the outdoor office spaces - all complete with wifi and outlets. I'm definitely so impressed with the way the entire outdoor co-working space was designed by Industrious as well as the stylish, durable products from L.L.Bean that always make it easy and enjoyable for us to fully experience the shared joy of being outside.

I've been dreaming of visiting the Brooklyn Grange ever since I first discovered that there was actually a rooftop farm in NYC. I had lived vicariously through everyone's Instagram pictures for so long, but it was such an amazing experience to to finally make a personal visit on Wednesday night for dinner with Fohrcard, Sweetgreen, Winc and Coastal.

I was welcomed by a lovely glass of  rosé courtesy of Winc when I arrived. One of the hardest things about attending influencer events is that I don't know anyone 95% of the time so I'm usually the awkward person in the corner on my camera/phone. But the universe was on my side on Wednesday and I became friends at first sight with Waikei (@waikeezy) at the wine table! She is super lovely and it's always SO nice to meet someone that you get along so well with right from the get go!

The sun was shining in my eyes when I remembered that I forgot to bring sunglasses, but Waikei and I ended up chatting with the beautiful ladies from Coastal and guess what? They had everyone's sunglasses covered! Coastal - you guys are so awesome!! I love the aviator frames!

Dinner was served at 7pm, right after a few words from the wonderful James Nord (he looks and talks exactly the same way as he does on A Drink with James hahaha). We feasted on hummus + sourdough bread, cashew tofu, mexican elote, strawberry fields and spring chicken salads - all freshly made in house courtesy from the amazing team at Sweetgreen. We took pictures and laughed and talked and sipped on white wine and rose all night long... And when dessert time came, I tried OddFellows ice cream for the first time! The raspberry and strawberry basil were my fav.

It was one of the hottest summer nights in New York this year, but being on a rooftop over sunset is an experience that is absolutely priceless.

Thank you so much to for this beautiful experience!

The year was 2005 when Viktor & Rolf first launched what has now become one of the most popular fragrances of the decade. Flowerbomb has been one of my favourite perfumes for years, and I'm so thrilled to have had the opportunity to celebrate the launch of Flowerbomb Twist on the High Line earlier this week with Viktor & Rolf.

Now you can create your own personal Flowerbomb scent with the new layering perfume oils from Viktor & Rolf that lets you customize Flowerbomb according to your mood and how you want to smell. The concept is brilliant and simple: layer each Twist underneath the Eau de Parfum, gently massage the oil on your skin before a spritz of perfume to enhance different notes of Flowerbomb. The Twist collection consists of Rose, Jasmine and Musk. Rose Twist was my personal favourite of the collection - the fresh and floral notes made me feel so feminine and elegant. Which one is your favourite?

A starry night on the farm in Brooklyn with Prairie Organic Spirits & Farm Aid

I think that so often, we have such a huge disconnection between our food and how it was made.  How often do we really stop to think about where our food comes from, who grows them and how it was grown?  When Prairie Organic Spirits asked me to attend “A Starry Night on the Farm”,  a Brooklyn Farm Aid Benefit, on their behalf, I couldn't say no.   Farm Aid, whose mission is to build a vibrant, family farm centered system of agriculture, has been supporting farmers and and growing the good food movement in America since 1985.  Along with sustainable food leaders like Whole Foods and Bonterra Vineyards, Prairie Organic Spirits is a proud sponsor of the event.

COCKTAIL HOUR: Villain, 50 N 3rd St, Brooklyn, NY 11249

The festivities began at 6:00pm with delicious treats prepared by the chefs and refreshing hand-crafted cocktails using Prairie Organic Spirits.  I absolutely loved the fruity summer Prairie cocktails, the fluke crudo by Mike Price, the spring pea barquette and the Hepworth Farms tomato wrapped in mozzarella by Great Performances.  If you followed along my story on snapchat, you probably saw me doing (a lot) of eating.

The Evening

After cocktail hour, we move into an all-local dinner. Thank you so much to chefs Evan Hanczor of Egg, Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli of Frankies Sputino and Liz Neumark of Great Performances for preparing the delicious food. And of course, to Bronze Radio Return for the live musical performance!

Thank you so much to Prairie Organic Spirits for having me as your guest.  All I can say is that it was such a beautiful and elegant high-end culinary experience celebrating all things local - food, farmers, chefs and music.  I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend Saturday night in Brooklyn in celebration of good food, good people and good spirits!
