Organic rose & honey rooibos exfoliator

One of the best things about coming home to South Africa is that I get to raid my mum's garden! :)  I love the fresh air and being able to pick fresh flowers, fruit and veggies outside.  Also, with summer in full bloom in the southern hemisphere, I couldn't help snipping a few organic roses to make a quick and easy mini spa day for myself this morning!

Honey is an amazing anti-inflammatory ingredient for the skin.  It's natural, super hydrating and delicious.  Rooibos is full of anti-oxidants that's not just great for drinking, but as a skincare ingredient, too.  And we all know the botanical goodness of the humble rose.  In one of the flowerโ€™s earliest uses for beauty, the ancient Greeks and Romans used rose petals to perfume their baths.  Since then, it's been transformed into everything from rose oil to rose water, but today, we will just be using fresh organic rose petals from its source: straight from the earth.

A good exfoliator is an essential part of any skincare regime and the amazing thing about this diy beauty recipe is that it literally takes two minutes to whip up in your kitchen!  I love using this on my face and body in the shower 2-3 times a week to clean out my pores and get rid of any dead skin cells. It will leave you feeling as soft as velvet.  I hope you give it a try! :)

  • 3-4 organic rose petals
  • 1 tsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp organic rooibos tea

Combine all ingredients together in a small bowl and mix well.
Apply on damp skin in the shower and exfoliate gently.
Moisturize well with a body oil or lotion to keep skin hydrated.
