Last weekend my dear friends Jackie and Michelle whisked me away on a last minute trip to Philly and I couldn't have been more grateful as the timing couldn't have come at a better time in my life. I rushed home from work at 7pm on Friday night and by 8:20pm, we were in the car on the way to Philly for a weekend of pumpkin picking, good food and wine tasting. For someone who has lived in New York for the past four years, I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that this was actually my first time visiting Pennsylvania. The history and beauty of old town Philadelphia is beautiful and I realize now how much I had missed. The first part of my visit was to Shady Brook Farm in Philadelphia. I did yoga in corn fields, draped myself amongst the deep colours of fall and saw how cauliflower actually grew for the very first time. This was my happy place. I need weekends like this every single weekend.
