Stepping up my asian skincare game

Everything is pretty great so far. I've been using the Shiseido Benefiance eye cream religiously and I officially can't live without this hydrating face mist from AmorePacific. The only thing I'm not super into is this weird dry/rough sensation that the Shiseido cleanser makes me feel after I wash my face despite the "extra creamy" formula. Maybe I should try a different line. Oh, and something I've been using a lot lately are sleeping masks - this one from Amore Pacific makes smells like heaven and my skin look and feel so nourished and hydrated when I wake up in the morning!

Anyways, just thought I'd share a quick update on what my skincare routine has been looking like lately since it's been a while since I've written a beauty post. I hope you have a great week, ladies. Remember to drink lots of water, never sleep with your makeup on and alwayssss moisturize your skin!! :)

I used to pride myself in how low maintenance I was, but as I started reaching my mid-20s, not only did I begin to realize how amazing the daily ritual of cleansing/moisturizing/masking made me feel.... It also made my skin look SO good. I used to feel super insecure about going out "bare-faced" with no make-up, but you know what? There is NOTHING that makes me feel more confident than having clear, healthy and glowing skin. Strangely, I also used to think that girls who were super into makeup/skincare were just way too into themselves, but quite frankly,  there's really nothing wrong or selfish about wanting pamper your skin and to take care of yourself. It's true what they say... When you look good, you feel really good.

As I turn another year older in 2018, I thought it's time to step up my skincare game - and I'm talking about Asian skincare specifically. I don't know why, but girls in Asia have have really good skin. Also, I know I should have started much sooner, but I've just hopped on the bandwagon of wearing sunscreen obsessively lately and with nothing lower than SPF 50. For you girls who go as high as SPF 120 - please tell me where you shop and how can I get on that level??

My two of favorite Asian beauty brands at the moment are Shiseido and Amore Pacific. I was very kindly gifted a few products from Amore Pacific, and then I went all crazy and splurged on all these Shiseido goodies while I was in Rome (yes, I know... out of all places), but life is tough when you live out of a suitcase and I had limited luggage allowance flying out of NYC so it was easier just stocking up in Italy.
