If you watched my Instagram stories this past weekend, you've probably noticed that it involved a lot of matcha.
After missing MA Matcha's Pop Up #10 in July (if you live in NYC, you've probably seen it all over Facebook), I was lucky enough to snatch up a very last minute ticket to MA Matcha's Four Course Matcha & Food Pairing on Sunday! I made my way downtown to the beautiful space at The Alchemist's Kitchen in the East Village where we sat down for an intimate matcha and food tasting with MA Matcha founder, Liang Shi, where we watched her freshly hand craft each one of her creative signature matcha drinks, paired with tasty vegan bites by Chef Tilo Folo of The Alchemist's Kitchen.

It was a wonderful experience sitting across the bar with the open kitchen. Liang and Chef Tilo talked us through each of the course pairings and I made some new friends who were just as enthusiastic about matcha as I am! Overall, I personally had an amazing experience. The quality of the matcha is excellent, and the food pairings were very complimentary and well balanced. If I had to choose one drink to be my absolute favourite, it would definitely be the Coconut Cream Matcha (version 4.2)! The coconut whipped cream is highly addictive - I could literally eat that straight out of the cannister. Oh, and I have to mention that the avocado toast on corn bread is to die for. I'd definitely make my way back to The Alchemist's Kitchen to get my hands on that!
