DIY: sugar coffee scrub

diy coffee scrub

When you go through as much coffee as I do, it only makes sense to think of something to do with those used coffee grounds other than just throwing it away. Caffeine has been used in many skin and body care products for its  antioxidant properties and its ability to reduce inflammation and plump up your skin.  This DIY coffee scrub will help you target dry skin, cellulite, stretch marks and exfoliate dead skin cells while sealing in moisture thanks to the wonderful properties of grapeseed and avocado oil.  Remember that your skin is the largest organ of your body, so avoid exposure to GMOs and harmful pesticides by choosing organic ingredients whenever possible!

  • 1/2 cup used ground coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

In a bowl, combine the ground coffee, brown sugar, grapeseed and avocado oils and mix well.
Jump into the shower and dampen skin. Massage the coffee scrub in a circular motion on your skin to exfoliate, focusing on dry areas like heels and elbow.  I like to let the scrub sit on my skin for 5-10 minutes to let it do its thing before rinsing off. You can also use this coffee scrub on your face as an exofliating scrub. I hope you enjoy!
