I was born in 1990 on a small Chinese island on the southeast coastal region of China. When I was five, I was tricked into going to the airport without my grandma and after crying my eyes out on the plane, I suddenly found myself in a strange and beautiful land that was South Africa. When I eventually stopped crying, the first English word mum taught me was "blue". It was around this time when I fell in love with all the colours of the rainbow.
In 2009, I moved to Italy to study fashion design at Polimoda and a year later, I made another move to New York City to complete the rest of my studies the Fashion Institute of Technology. I graduated with degrees in design and marketing, and after a brief stint in the corporate fashion world, it was so hard to admit to myself that everything I had worked for during my entire college career just... wasn't for me.
When I first created this blog, it was just me and my everyday life in New York — days filled with a strange mix of feelings of being scared and brave and optimistic and lonely and lost and hungry and in love and confused. But what always made me feel better was yoga... which lead to eating better, which lead to cooking, which lead me to playing with my food.
I had no idea at the time that my strange obsession with arranging food and Instagram photography would lead me to working with some of the most amazing food, beauty and lifestyle brands that I have collaborated with to date. And for the first time in a long time, life feels really wonderful.
Because food and yoga has been the greatest gifts the universe has given me, one of my goals for 2017 is to share this gift and spread my love for health and happiness through breakfast and yoga. I hope you stay tuned for more details and thank you so much for being here with me! :)
